THE VISION BY ING.NICOLA ROSA From the very first thought, the desire of Nicola Rosa was to build a watch that would perform under all conditions, not just when protected in the laboratory...... "To do this, I thought that a watch isn't just a movement, but is structured like a supercar, with the concept of a supercar and with handling: so I created our handling with our carbon fiber and graphene suspensions. A complex and detailed system for each of our products: sport, professional and racing. Passion is always the drive to raise the bar that previously seemed like a limit."
handling by RO-NI: watch features to parameterize its performance.
HANDLING TYPE
S – SR – SRS – SRS+ – R – R+ -- RS – RSR – RSR+
Nicola Rosa created and developed the Handling Concept, which is outlined as follows:
1 - Carbon Chassis Structural parts of the watch that define its anti-vibration, anti-magnetic, anti-corrosion, and temporal eternity. Plate, bridges, support frames, cases.
2 - Suspension Setup Type and calibration of the suspension to determine the extreme use of the watch.
3 - Carbon Dynamic Moving carbon fiber components of the movement that reduce friction and unbalanced forces: hands, oscillating weights, oscillating balance bridges, tourbillon bridges, barrels.
4- Lightness Ratio Ratio between the overall mass and volume of the watch that finalizes and defines the versatility and ease of handling of the watch.
Always focused on performance, we create our innovations in-house, dedicated to visionary clients like ourselves. After years of research and development, our expertise in developing genuine carbon fiber watch components has made us unique worldwide and allowed us to be the first to produce them. Bridges, plates, hands, barrels, tourbillon bridges, and all the special components we produce are made of pure, genuine carbon fiber—lightweight, highly resistant, temperature-resistant, and impervious to corrosion over time. Competing in development is a race against ourselves, and only by developing i n-house can we achieve our goals without compromise.
2015 – start carbon fiber parts production
2016 – Construction of 8 models, all equipped with continuous-geometry carbon fiber anti-vibration suspension and RCS plate on the radial anti-vibra tion case
2017 – Construction of new independent suspension models 2017 – Construction of tourbillons with three-axis suspension
2017-2018 – Construction of anti-vibration mounts for the plates and balance bridge
2018 – Development of sensitive suspensions with reduced thickness. Development of carbon fiber in carbon graphene 2019-2020 – Construction of the new Tempesta model with carbon fiber heat sinks – Development of carbon fiber bridges, plates, and hands – Development and production of ultra-sensitive carbon-graphene CG-30-SV suspensions
2021 – RO-NI Superleggero construction, the world's first watch with carbon fiber bridges, mainplate, and hands. Carbon fiber case construction with aerodynamic downforce developed in its own dedicated wind tunnel. Pre-compressed carbon-graphite inner case construction: maximum water resistance even without locking screws. Carbon fiber case construction and carbon-wood shock absorbers.
2022 – 2023: Development and construction of a high-slip carbon fiber barrel. Development and construction of high-performance RO-NI MC-1 carbo n fiber microrotors. Development and construction of a carbon fiber oscillating balance bridge for the B1. Development and construction of an ultralight carbon fiber tourbillon bridge.
2024 – Creation of the RO-NI Superleggero Modificato, the world's first watch with a carbon fiber mainplate and all bridges, a carbon-wood carbon fib er case with aerodynamic downforce, a pre-compressed carbon graphite inner case, a caseback made of a hypoallergenic, medical-grade material for professional racing use, a high-friction carbon fiber barrel, and an ultra-light carbon fiber tourbillon bridge. The low-friction barrel and lightweight tour billon bridge have allowed for an increase in power reserve of approximately 25%, reduced friction, and reduced tension on the tourbillon assembly. 2024 – Development and production of carbon fiber, enamel, and wood inlay dials: a technique developed in-house, which has allowed for dials mad e of flexible materials and eliminated the classic problem of cracking typical of enamel. 2024 – Creation and development of the first resin-free, high-density CPK carbon fiber case
2024 – Construction of the first RO-NI RP3, RP3S, and RP3R models, watches equipped with CG-30-SV carbon-graphene anti-vibration systems, carbon fiber micrometers, carbon fiber hands, carbon fiber dial and shock absorbers, carbon fiber oscillating barrel bridge, CPK carbon fiber case
2025 – Production of RO-NI RP3 and RT1 watches. Development of technical improvements in production. Research and development of a carbon fi ber balance wheel.
